Anonymous asked: "Why not show the proof, then? If you believe that you are doing justice and being a guide to 'avoid toxic environments' claming that mouth word is not proof (without consider, of course, that you're doing that yourself, having your priorities completely sorted out, of course.) then simply call out what's wrong or quit creating anther toxic environment by doing something as petty as 'shit lists'."

Because then that would put the other person who submitted it under the microscope. ‘Petty’ is forcing members out with cruelty and racism, and allowing toxic environments to fester. My shit list stays, and the only reason you probably have a problem with it, is because you’re on it somewhere.

shootingstargrl asked: "With all due respect, I understand your points and views, but regardless of whether you believe certain RPs are not okay, it's really also not okay to create a "shit list." As an admin and former RPH myself, that only perpetuates anger and hatred, and creates an unsafe environment for everyone all around. Disagreeing is fine, but completely attacking someones creative baby is never, ever, ever productive."

With all due respect, that list is there so that people can avoid a toxic environment and know which roleplays provide that environment. There is no attacking anyone, there’s no posts on my blog saying ‘HEY GO SEND HATE TO THIS BLOG’ or ‘HEY THIS NEW BLOG IS ON MY SHIT LIST GO CHECK IT OUT AND HATE THEM’. If an admin creates a toxic environment for a roleplayer, then they should not be an admin, and roleplays are only put on my shit list if proof is provided. I’m sorry if that offends you, or you disagree with it, but I wouldn’t want to join an rp that had issues like the ones I advise against on my list. It isn’t ‘attacking’ anyone. It’s pointing out that it has severe flaws, and once those are fixed, the roleplay has a chance to get off the list if they correct what’s been done wrong.

Anonymous asked: "How do you decide to put an rp on a shit list? In my experience I've found the process other critics use is very bias and they either only use one persons experience or their own. Which doesn't work. It depends on that person. If you could explain your process, and instead of listing why they're shit you say, "in the persons experience this happened." You can't call an rp shit from one persons comment. Otherwise every rp or even show, etc. would be regarded as shit."

I don’t put an rp on the shit list unless I’ve seen proof that the rp has done wrong, or that it’s a toxic environment. Word of mouth is not proof, screenshots and actual proof was provided to me to put those rps on there, not simply one player saying it was bad.

Anonymous asked: "I feel like you listing an rp as rascist is a bit unfair. If you want to go into racism and whitewashing then go into tv shows and try and change it there. Blacklist or "shit list" those. Rps are just using FC's, tv shows are casting and deciding to white wash. While rp's are just going, "yeah that fc works for gifs." Racism is a very large issue, and I feel like you aren't addressing it right for RP's. Just my opinion, not having a go!"

That rp was put on their for racism because of screenshots that were shown to me, of members of the rp being racist towards another player, not for whitewashing. If it was for whitewashing, it would have said whitewashing.

First Impressions

I am not a fan of monochrome themes, although some are done quite tastefully, but unfortunately, this is not one of those exceptions. It looks very washed out, and the colors don’t look great together. It was very hard to look at, and even the font was far too contrasting from the rest of the page.

Appearance
Theme & Color Scheme

The theme itself is fine, but this is basically a carbon copy of every other monochrome roleplay out there. I don’t see anything that really stands out, and the color scheme itself is not aesthetically pleasing at all. If done right, this could be a great looking roleplay, but it’s just not my cup of tea as it stands, and everything is much too contrasting for my taste.

Layout & Functionality

I’ve always really been against having only three links on the main page, and having them as PNG’s, because they look very unprofessional. The actual png itself looks interesting, but it just doesn’t make for a look of professionalism.

Graphics

I like that all the graphics aren’t completely gradient mapped, but they also don’t go along with the rest of the roleplay. Your admin graphics are completely gradient mapped, but everything else isn’t, and it doesn’t really match. The microphone on the side is a bit overtaking, though, maybe if it was something like a stage through the whole background with the artist right there? Just an idea. Your character graphics, also don’t really go along with the rest of the theme, and it just makes it look very disorderly. Nothing really matches all together, and the character graphics are very simple looking, but if they matched everything else, they’d be alright.

Content
Plot

The plot was really long, and a lot of things were really repetitive. I don’t know, it really didn’t…grab me, at all. I’ve seen at least a dozen just like it, and they’re really all a variation of the same thing. The only part that really got me was the last paragraph, and then it started sounding interesting. The concept itself sounded interesting enough, but the first few paragraphs just sounded like you were trying to fill in more space rather than actually tell a story.

Biographies

The bios I actually really like. I love how they’re set up, and the first few I read really grabbed my attention and kept me interested. I loved the different sections for them, and the tweets were something I haven’t seen before, but really contributed to the overall personality of the character.

Faceclaims

I was very disappointed in the lack of diversity, and underused faces. It looks like you just went for the most popular face claims, and I think I saw maybe 4 in all of the bios I went through. Major loss of points there. I also noticed on a few questions that you’d prefer faceclaims with more than 200 gifs, and it just seems like that’s limiting a lot of potentially great faces.

Business
Rules

The rules were extremely long, and honestly, very unnecessary. A lot of it could be condensed, or even removed. I would go through and take out anything that isn’t absolutely necessary for the success of the roleplay. Otherwise it just looks very intimidating.

Application

It just looks, very unprofessional. Applications are how your potential players prove that they belong in your roleplay, and it doesn’t seem like you take that seriously.

Admins

The admins do seem very dedicated, but not very professional, I’m sorry to say. I don’t ever suggest using gifs for mascots and I saw a mascot on every ask that you answered.

Other
Would I recommend this rp?

I’m sorry, but no.

Overall

It looks like something fun for a day or two, but it lacks organization and order, and doesn’t seem like the admins take the roleplay very seriously. It looks like someone’s worked very hard on the bios and plot, but it just lacked luster and creativity in any area other than the bios.

Yes because completely changing around a Disney movie based in a country where everyone’s pale skinned, just to make it POC is the solution. Not just making more POC based movies. Of course not.

People never cease to amaze me with their stupidity and complete ignorance.

Requested by anon, I will be making a guide on how to review and accept your applications. This guide will explain the core things that admins should look into while accepting applications and deciding which player should be selected to bring to life a written character. This will also be especially helpful when it comes down to having more than one person apply for a role and you can’t decide which will portray the character better. Please like/reblog if this helped you in any way.

Anonymous asked: "What are some ways to politely reject someone's application? For example, there are multiple apps for the same character and one of, or several of, the applicant(s) being rejected didn't list a second choice. Thank you!"

roleplaytipsandadvice:

Some things I tend to say:

  • "Hi there, sorry to say this but you were not accepted in the roleplay."
  • "Hi there, sorry to say this but you were not accepted in the roleplay due to me/us choosing another player, however you are free to audition as someone else."
  • "Hi there, sorry to say this but you were not accepted in the roleplay due to me/us choosing someone else. However we/I still would like you to audition so is there someone else you’d be willing to play?."

Something like that.
